Saturday, June 29 I celebrated Canada Day in Central Park. Kind of strange, isn’t? The idea that there’s a celebration of Canada Day in New York City may be surprising in itself, but even stranger is that Canada Day actually isn’t until July 1 (today!).
The highlight of the celebration for me was seeing/hearing Spirit of the West perform. Although, I’ve seen them in concert several times, it’s always special when you see one of your favorite bands in an unexpected place. Spirit of the West tunes have long been on my travel playlist; listening to them is like carrying a little piece of home with you wherever you go. I also remember when a night out wasn’t over until we heard the band play a cover of “Home for a Rest!" Lots of great memories attached to the music of Spirit of the West!
Happy Canada Day!
