Art, City Views, and Pop-Up Markets

My dad is visiting for a few days and today was day 1 of that visit. By the time he got into the city it was a little after noon so we had a light lunch at Serafina on Madison Ave. before heading over to the Met. We also stopped in at the Guggenheim  to see the James Turrell installation. Afterwards, we walked through Central Park a bit as we made our way towards midtown. We had planned to go to Top of the Rock but we had sort of had it with lines after the ones for Turrell. Rockefeller Center had a nice pop-up farmer's market so we browsed that and looked in some of the shops along Fifth Avenue. The rooftop at The Pod Hotel on E 39 was the perfect way to end the day.  Tomorrow we'll be taking to the NY waterway!
