A Color that Gleams

This bright sun kissed coral color might be one of my favorite colors. I pretty much love every color but if there's a store full of colorful clothing I seem to be naturally drawn to this hue.  Pair that color with a twirly skirt, sheer fabric and delicate flowers and I get a little weak at the knees. Technically this is supposed to be a spring/summer dress but I love it too much to restrict it to only two seasons. I think the brown tights with floral embroidery and coppery shoes give just the touch of autumnal styling needed to carry this dress in October (maybe even November...).  Do you have a favorite dress you hate packing away for the summer? How do you style it to get a few more wears in past the season it was intended for?

Neon is everywhere right now and while I'm drawn to the day-glo hues, head to toe neon feels too 80s.  But dainty neon flowers set against the white backdrop of a twirl worthy dress feel perfectly contemporary. And the fit and flare silhouette along with the Peter Pan collar adds the kind of timeless and romantic details that I never grow tired of, and which seem perfect no matter what the year. The  pearl drop and floral motif necklace and earring set I wore with the dress seemed to fit this timeless quality, while the black sheer stockings played on the contemporary elements of the dress. Once at work, I added a neon cardigan with a lacy collar and laced up a pair of white oxfords. I really love that from this dress so many other looks can be created. For example one of the other ways I like to wear this dress is with a pair of ballet pink tights, shimmery flats and a cropped cardigan. A happy mingling of old and new, classic and trendy.
